Healthy Eating, habits, and supplements

Organic Foods

Buying only organic foods is expensive, but worth it. Decide where you want to spend your money... in the produce section and looking at the labels of your groceries or at the doctors' office paying for office visits and medication.

FOODS TO AVOID:

  • Processed sugar (if you have to use sweetener, substitute with Monkfruit instead)
  • Low fat foods (they are usually high in sugar)
  • Red Meats (I use USDA Organic Bison and Lamb instead of beef)
  • Margarine
  • Peanuts, Peanut Butter
  • Salad dressings (bottled) *NOTE - I use only USDA Organic Gluten Free salad dressings like Marie's and Briannas
  • Foods high in preservatives
  • Alcohol
  • Breads (I buy the Canyon Bakehouse Gluten Free bread and Udi's rolls, and Odoughs bagels in the frozen section)

Supplements

  • VITAMIN C - We have already discussed the benefits of Vitamin C and it's effects it has on killing off cancer cells, so incorporating Vitamin C everyday is a great habit to begin. I take 2000 mg every morning.  Vitamin Infusions

  • IRON - Iron reduces tiredness and fatigue. It also supports good energy levels and contributes to the normal formation of red blood cells  and hemoglobin function, which carries oxygen around the body. CANCER HATES OXYGEN!

  • B12 -   Vitamin B12 is an essential nutrient that helps the body create DNA, nourishes the brain and nervous system, and assists with the formation of healthy red blood cells.  Read more here.

  • LYSINE - Lysine is an amino acid that is found mostly in animal products.  It has been proven to reduce anxiety, prevent cold sores, improve calcium absorption, and promotes would healing. Read more here.

  • VITAMIN D -  Vitamin D is a nutrient your body needs for building and maintaining healthy bones. That's because your body can only absorb calcium, the primary component of bone, when vitamin D is present. Vitamin D also regulates many other cellular functions in your body. Its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and neuroprotective properties support immune health, muscle function and brain cell activity. Read more here.

  • GLUTATHIONE - Glutathione, the body's #1 anti-oxidant, is released into the body 600-700 times greater than the body is normally capable, creating a large toxic cleanse. When this happens, inflammation and pain in the body is decreased greatly.

  • FLAX OIL/FISH OIL -  Fish oil is a supplement that contains omega-3 fatty acids, which are also found in oily fish like salmon, tuna, and mackerel.  Some benefits include inflammation reduction, heart health improvement, cognitive function improvement, managing arthritis symptoms, lowering blood pressure, protecting eye health, reduces the risk of  Alzheimer's disease and dementia, reduces the risk of anxiety and depression, and slows bone density and muscle loss.

  • MILK THISTLE - Milk Thistle detoxifies the liver, can reduce blood sugar effects from diabetes, and helps with indigestion. Read more here

  • BIOTIN - Biotin is also known as B7 and it supports multiple parts of the body including your nervous system, liver, eyes, hair, and skin. It helps the enzymes in your body carry out their jobs and keeps cells working as they should. Studies have also proven that it could help manage the symptoms of diabetes.

  • MULTIVITAMIN - Finding a good multivitamin is smart to add to your daily supplements. Reaching out to a holistic practitioner may help in guiding you to finding the right one specifically for you.

  • MUSHROOMS - mushrooms decrease the risk of cancer, promotes lower cholesterol, promotes brain health, provides a source of Vitamin D, stimulates a healthier gut, and supports a healthy immune system. I don't like mushrooms so I supplement with this Mushroom vitamin.

  • PROBIOTIC - it all comes down to GUT HEALTH.  Finding a good probiotic is essential to getting your gut health back into shape.  A general recommendation is to choose probiotic products with at least 1 billion colony-forming units and containing the genus Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, Bacillus or Saccharomyces boulardii.  You can also get probiotics from eating yogurt, sauerkraut (unpasteurized), soft cheese, kefir, sourdough bread, and sour pickles.  Broccoli and other vegetables in the cruciferous family are in the list of probiotic food in India as they are rich in fiber. So it is recommended that you include cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, Kale, Brussels sprouts, cabbage regularly to your diet.

  • TURMERIC -  Turmeric is a spice that comes from the root of the curcuma longa plant, which is a perennial in the ginger family. Its major active ingredient is curcumin.  Curcumin has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It lessens inflammation, improves memory, lessens pain, fight free radicals, lowers the risk of heart disease, helps fight depression, and helps prevent cancer.

  • CoQ10 -  Coenzyme Q10 is most commonly used for conditions that affect the heart such as heart failure and fluid build up in the body (congestive heart failure or CHF), chest pain (angina), and high blood pressure. It is also used for preventing migraine headaches, Parkinson's disease, and many other conditions.

  • COFFEE ENEMAS - Coffee enemas help rid the body of Candida, other yeast, bad bacteria, parasites, heavy metals, and fungus. Not only do they cleanse the liver, but they also cleanse the blood. I do coffee enemas about twice a week.  This is the kit that I purchased online to do my coffee enemas at home.
  • Preparing your coffee enema:
  • Grind coffee beans to medium course, not too fine (it is recommended to use S.A. Wilson's Coffee Enema Coffee or Bulletproof Coffee)
  • Bring 4 cups of purified water to a soft boil. Add 4 Tablespoons of coffee and stir until coffee is at a low simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Once coffee has simmered for 15 minutes, remove from heat, cover and let steep for 30 minutes. NOTE: Coffee should be between 100 degrees F and 102 degrees F when administering the enema.
  • Strain the coffee through a fine mesh container, into a glass container.
  • Watch this video of how to set up for your enema at home

*I highly recommend seeking a holistic practitioner that can advise you on the supplements you might need. Every person and DNA is different. Educate yourself. Do the homework. YOU GOT THIS!!!!

VEGGIES and FRUITS

It's vital to implement fresh fruits and veggies into your DAILY diet. Whether that's eating them straight from the container, the garden, or whether it consists of juicing. Investing in a juicer is a great way to get the nutrients you need from veggies and fruits. I prefer juicing rather than cutting up an apple or cucumber... It's more to clean up in the end but if you learn to food prep for juicing, it makes it easier when it comes time to drink that "cocktail".

IMPLEMENTING BETTER MEAL HABITS

For several years, I wouldn't eat breakfast. I would drink a few cups of coffee and head to work. I'd eat a fast food lunch and get back to earning that paycheck. For dinner, I'd fix something easy for a family of 6. That dinner could include a boxed dinner, or something from scratch... depends on the busy schedule for the day.  I rid my coffee drinking habits of acidic coffee. I have switched to an organic NON-ACIDIC coffee. This is the brand I buy online. K-cups | Ground Coffee *NOTE: I do not use this coffee for my coffee enemas. I use the Bulletproof coffee for those.

I have incorporated a healthy breakfast into my daily regimen. That breakfast includes a protein of eggs, chicken & apple sausage, fruit, and a gluten free bagel. I also found some organic uncured bacon that is really good. I have also found a great nut-free Organic granola that I will put in some coconut milk.  I will sometimes make a bowl of organic gluten free oatmeal and pour a scoop of my protein powder in it and mix it with some raisins and coconut milk.  Then I take ALL MY SUPPLEMENTS. I do this each and everyday. I don't skip breakfast and won't ever again. Breakfast is key to a jump-start to your day.

Lunch is more complicated..... depending on whether I'm out showing properties or working from home, I will either make a fruit smoothie or a hot sandwich made with Gluten free bread, and instead of chips, I will eat some sliced up cucumbers.

For Dinner...... well, it's easy to get burned out on cooking so much so I created a page with some easy and healthy dinner ideas.  Click here to read more.

DRINK WATER!!!!! DRINK MORE AND MORE WATER!!!! ONLY DRINK FILTERED OR PURIFIED WATER!!!!  Even if you can find water with Alkaline in it, CANCER HATES AN ALKALINE ENVIRONMENT!!!! (They say to drink half your body weight in ounces everyday. So if you weight, 120 lbs, you should drink 60 oz of water everyday.)

SLEEP IS SO IMPORTANT TO MAINTAIN A HEALTHY IMMUNE SYSTEM. STAYING UP LATE ON YOUR PHONE OR WATCHNG TV AND SNACKING IS SO UNHEALTHY. TURN OFF THE TUBE, TURN OFF THE LIGHTS, AND GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO SLEEP. STRIVE TO GET AT LEAST 7-8 HOURS OF SLEEP EVERY NIGHT.
